An Elegant Garden Wedding at Villa Vizcaya

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami is inarguably one of the most beautiful historic wedding venues in Florida. So I feel so grateful to have participated in this styled shoot among other talented wedding vendors based here in South Florida.

This Vizcaya wedding featured some of my custom stationery, including an invitation suite, elegant ceremony programs, and dinner menus.

The theme of this wedding shoot was Spring Garden, for which this historic old Florida site was a perfect setting.

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding stationer is creating custom venue illustrations. I have a background in drawing, painting, and graphic design and I employ all methods for venue illustrations so I can tailor the art medium to the couple’s aesthetic.

This is the east facade of the historic Vizcaya. I hand-sketched the building in ink first before scanning it then cleaning it up with my editing software.

For this suite collaborated with Ariel Dawn Studio who is expert in several styles of modern calligraphy. I also carefully curated the postage to reflect the color palette and aesthetic of the wedding day.

Hand-tying silk ribbon is an art in itself. I love the feeling of the silk, which makes individually tying over a hundred programs a somewhat therapeutic endeavor.

The vendors did a an incredible job with the tablescape. The menu rests on top of a dusty pink linen napkin on antique serveware.

I incorporated the Vizcaya venue illustration from the invitation card into this clean, minimalist yet formal dinner menu design.

This wedding’s Spring Garden theme was epitomized by the beautiful floral centerpieces provided by Molly Flowers & Decor in Miami.

In love with the pink, peach, coral, cream, and subtle olive floral palette

A sweet post-ceremony pre-reception moment

This was such a beautiful shoot. I am so thankful to all my fellow vendors who made this all come together.
